The NCAA News

Following is a summary of Division III news published April 6-10.

Two Division III member institutions are adding varsity sports during the coming academic year, as Franklin elevates its men’s and women’s swimming and diving program from club to varsity status and Emmanuelestablishes a men’s golf program.

Swimming and diving coach Jack Groselle still is making waves in competitive swimming, 33 years after claiming a Division III individual championship for Hiram. He set two world long-course freestyle records in his age group in late March, then set a short-course world mark just one week later while also participating in a record-setting relay.

Wooster’s Tim Pettorini became only the eighth Division III baseball coach to win 900 games as a coach, and Montclair State’s Anita Kubicka, who ranks 10th among Division III softball coaches in victories, recorded her 600th coaching win.
