Wooster’s Tim Pettorini became only the eighth Division III baseball coach to win 900 games with a weekend doubleheader sweep of Hiram.

He became one of five active Division III coaches to reach the milestone, achieving it in his 28th season at Wooster.

Pettorini, who also ranks in the Division III all-time top 10 in winning percentage (.734 through August 5), has guided the Scots to 11 North Coast Athletic Conference titles and 18 appearances in the Division III Baseball Championship. Four of his teams advanced to the tournament’s eight-team final, finishing second in 1997 and third in 2005.

This year’s team is ranked in the top 10 in both the American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association/D3baseball.com polls.
