Division III RewindFollowing is a summary of Division III news published March 2-6.
• The possibility that educational materials created confusion about whether Division III coaches can observe student-athletes in nonorganized activities like “pick-up games” recently prompted the Division III Management Council to address the issue through a blanket waiver and proposed legislation for the 2010 Convention.
• The last of three funerals was held this week for former Division III student-athletes who were killed last month in a plane crash near Buffalo.
• Two schools – Oglethorpe and Albion – announced plans to sponsor men’s and women’s lacrosse as varsity sports.
• The National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA) will host its fourth annual summer forum June 2-3 in Anaheim, California.
