The following is a summary of Division I news from the week of March 9-13.

•         Valparaiso athletics director Mark LaBarbera talked with The NCAA News about the school adding three sports: men’s and women’s golf and bowling. He called the plan a sort of “stimulus package” for the northwest Indiana school.

•         The Administration Cabinet hopes to develop a tool that will assess the effectiveness of the reorganized Division I governance structure. The Cabinet will discuss more specific elements at its meeting in June.

•         Navy women’s lacrosse coach Cindy Timchal became the all-time lacrosse wins leader. She leads coaches in both genders and all three divisions with 352 victories as a head coach.
