Tod Gross

Muhlenberg chose Tod Gross to lead its baseball program as head coach. Gross has 10 years experience as an assistant, most recently spending the last three seasons at Davidson. He has also coached at Belmont Abbey and Franklin & Marshall. Corey Goff stepped down from the position when he became the institution’s athletics director.

Other transactions

Athletics directors – Fordham is promoting current executive director of athletics Frank McLaughlin to associate vice president of student affairs for athletic alumni relations and external affairs/athletics director emeritus. McLaughlin spent 27 years in the AD role … Gene Bleymaier is San Jose State’s new athletics director. Bleymaier was Boise States athletics director for nearly three decades … Winona State appointed Eric Schoh as its director of athletics. Schoh has been Wayne State’s (Nebraska) AD since 2004.

Associate athletics directors – IUPUI promoted Gail Barksdale to senior associate director of athletics. Barksdale originally joined the department in July 2011 … Miami (Florida) hired Tim Wise as its new senior associate athletics director for facilities and event operations. Wise was previously at Wisconsin since 2008 … VCU elevated Mike Ellis to deputy athletics director.

Assistant athletics directors – IUPUI elevated Ed Holdaway to assistant athletics director for communications and Kyle Torgerson to assistant athletics director for sports medicine … Western State hired Rachel Burleson as its assistant athletics director for equipment, events and facilities. Burleson was at Oklahoma Panhandle State the past four years.

Coaches

Baseball – Mike Gaski will not return as North Carolina-Greensboro’s head baseball coach. Gaski is the only coach in the 22-year history of the program.

Men’s basketball – Fordham head men’s basketball coach Tom Pecora signed a contract extension through the 2016-17 season. Pecora has coached the Rams for two seasons … Iowa State extended the contract of Fred Hoiberg, keeping him with the Cyclones through 2021. Hoiberg has held the role for the past two seasons … Montana and head men’s basketball coach Wayne Tinkle agreed to a contract extension. Tinkle has spent six years leading the Griz.

Men’s basketball assistants – Kansas State added Chester Frazier to its men’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant. Frazier played collegiately for Wildcat head coach Bruce Weber at Illinois before spending the last two years playing professionally overseas … Marquette promoted Brad Autry from coordinator of student-athlete development to assistant men’s basketball coach. Autry held his previous role for four seasons.

Women’s basketball – Marshall tabbed Matt Daniel as its head women’s basketball coach. Daniel spent the last four seasons coaching Central Arkansas … Montana extended the contract of head women’s basketball coach Robin Selvig. Selvig will begin his 35th season at the helm this winter.

Women’s basketball assistants – St. John’s (New York) added Priscilla Edwards to its women’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant. Edwards comes from St. Bonaventure, where she was an assistant for the last three seasons.

Football – Alcorn State hired Jay Hopson as its new head football coach.

Men’s and women’s golf – Greg Flesher is High Point’s new head men’s golf coach. Flesher was Pfeiffer’s head men’s and women’s golf coach since 2010.

Men’s and women’s lacrosse – Furman chose Richie Meade as its first head men’s lacrosse coach. Meade was Navy’s head coach from 1994-2011. The program will begin play in the 2014-15 academic year … Kennesaw State named Kristina Llanes its first head women’s lacrosse coach. Most recently, Llanes was the head coach at Presbyterian for three years.

Softball – North Carolina-Greensboro will not renew the contract of head softball coach Jennifer Herzig. Herzig spent seven years with the program.

Men’s and women’s tennis – Brian Jackson is now both the head men’s and women’s head tennis coach at Pacific (Oregon). Jackson, who coached the men’s team the past five years, takes on the title of director of tennis.

Men’s and women’s swimming and diving – Ripon selected Marty Wahle as its head men’s and women’s swimming coach. He was an assistant at Misericordia for two years previously.

Conferences

The Collegiate Water Polo Association hired Scott Hartkorn as its director of membership services and assistant director of multimedia services. Hartkorn was Villanova’s multimedia coordinator since August 2011.
