Patrick Beilein

Patrick Beilein is West Virginia Wesleyan’s new head men’s basketball coach. Beilein was Bradley’s director of men’s basketball operations. He has also served as an assistant at Dartmouth and a graduate assistant under his father John at Michigan.

Coaches

Men’s basketball – Pacific head men’s basketball coach Bob Thomason announced that he will retire after he 2012-13 season. Thomason became head coach of the Tigers in 1988 and played for them from 1968-1971.

Men’s basketball assistants – Illinois State added Dana Ford to its men’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant. Ford spent last season as an assistant at Wichita State and was on the staff for two years at Tennessee State before that.

Women’s basketball – Colorado State named Ryun Williams head women’s basketball coach. Williams has spent 17 years as a head coach, most recently at South Dakota for four seasons … High Point elevated DeUnna Hendrix from assistant to head women’s basketball coach. Hendrix spent four seasons as Jacksonville’s head coach before coming to High Point as an assistant last season.

Men’s and women’s volleyball – Wentworth Institute chose Evin Giglio to lead its women’s volleyball program as head coach. Giglio had been serving as the program’s interim head coach after Jenn Kelemen stepped down.

Staff

Ticketing – Dayton hired Adam Tschuor as its director of ticketing. Tschuor comes from Ball State, where he was the director of tickets sales. Gary McCans vacated the position as he becomes director of event services.

Sport sponsorship

Georgian Court is becoming a full coeducational institution and will begin offering men’s athletics in Fall 2013.

NCAA committee vacancies

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Division II Men’s Basketball Committee. The appointee will replace Ken Tyler, West Virginia Wesleyan, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the Atlantic region and may be a coach or administrator. The deadline for submitting nomination materials is June 22, 2012. Nominations must be submitted online (access code: membership2 – password: service).
