Brittany Jones

Brittany Jones is Florida Southern’s new head women’s soccer coach. Jones has been the assistant women’s soccer coach at her alma mater, Stetson, for the past five seasons. She replaces Ben Strawbridge, who departed for an assistant position with Arkansas.

Coaches

Men’s and women’s cross country and track and field – Florida Southern named Rebecca Clark Marsh and Ben Martucci head interim women’s and men’s track coaches, respectively.

Men’s and women’s soccer – New Jersey City tabbed Patrick Snyder as its new head men’s soccer coach. Snyder has formerly been a head coach at Felician and Mercer Community College … Sage Colleges hired Caitlin Colfer to be its first full-time head women’s soccer coach. Colfer played collegiately at Ohio State from 2005-09.

Conferences

Texas Lutheran has accepted an invitation to join the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs will leave the American Southwest Conference and become the SCAC’s eighth member at the beginning of the 2013-14 academic year.

Deaths

Palm Beach Atlantic head baseball coach Gary Carter passed away after a nearly nine-month fight with brain cancer. The Major League Baseball Hall of Famer began coaching with the Sailfish in 2009.
