Mike Teel

Wagner named Mike Teel quarterbacks coach. He comes from Kean, where he coached the quarterbacks and served as passing game coordinator last season. Teel completed his playing career at Rutgers in 2008 and spent some time in the National Football League.

Coaches

Football assistants – Florida added Tim Davis to its football coaching staff as offensive line coach. Davis was the offensive line coach at Utah last season … Montana promoted Ty Gregorak from linebackers coach to defensive coordinator and elevated Justin Green from student assistant to running backs coach … Rutgers named Dave Brock offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach, Dave Cohen linebackers coach, Darnell Dinkins tight ends coach, Ben Sirmans running backs coach, Rob Spence quarterbacks coach and Damian Wroblewski offensive line coach. Also, the Scarlet Knights promoted Robb Smith to defensive coordinator, Phil Galiano to special teams coordinator and Jeremy Cole to head strength and conditioning coach.

Men’s and women’s golf – Rutgers hired Rob Shutte as its new head men’s golf coach. Shutte has seven years of college coaching experience, the last two as the head women’s golf coach at Lehigh.

Men’s and women’s soccer – Western State chose Jeremy Clevenger to lead its men’s soccer program as head coach.

Men’s and women’s swimming and diving – Western State named Brad Smith head women’s swimming and diving coach. Smith spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach at Maine.

Men’s and women’s tennis assistants – Armstrong Atlantic State tabbed Taavo Roos as an assistant men’s and women’s tennis coach. Roos as an Armstrong Atlantic State alum and played for the Pirates men’s team.

Men’s and women’s volleyball – Montana State hired Kyle Weindel as its head women’s volleyball coach. Weindel recently completed his fourth year as an assistant at Ohio.

Conferences

The Patriot League announced that it will allow athletics merit aid for football, beginning with the class that enters school in the fall of 2013.
