Clemson hired Amanda Gray and Andy Campbell as director of compliance and compliance coordinator, respectively. Gray was most recently a compliance coordinator at Alabama, while Campbell completed law school at William and Mary in May of 2011.

Other transactions

Presidents and chancellors – Iowa State named Steven Leath president. Leath had been vice president for research and sponsored programs at North Carolina since 2007. His appointment is effective February 1, 2012.

Jack Cole

Athletics directors – Messiah appointed Jack Cole athletics director. Cole had been serving in the interim role since July of 2010. Cole has been employed at Messiah since 1985.

Coaches

Men’s basketball assistants – Saint Louis assistant men’s basketball coach Alex Jensen resigned to become a head coach in the NBA Developmental League. Jensen spent four seasons with the Billikens.

Men’s and women’s cross country and track and field assistants – Scott Roberts is UTEP’s new assistant track and field coach. Roberts previously served as an assistant at Alabama from 2007-2011.

Football – Arizona’s head football coach Mike Stoops was relieved of his duties. Stoops spent eight seasons with the Wildcats. Defensive coordinator Tim Kish will take over on an interim basis … Defiance head football coach Rob Taylor resigned from his position after 14 seasons with the team, the last nine as head coach. Nate Jensen, the defensive coordinator, will serve as interim head coach.
