Hunter tabbed Shay Berry as its head men’s basketball coach. Berry comes from Dartmouth, where he spent five years as an assistant coach. Berry has over 20 years of coaching experience overall, with other stops at Fordham, New York University and Yale.

Men’s and women’s ice hockey assistants – Brown named Andrew McPhee assistant women’s ice hockey coach. McPhee was previously the head coach at Trinity (Connecticut) … Castleton hired Laurie Bowler and Lisa Wilson as assistant women’s ice hockey coaches.

Men’s and women’s lacrosse assistants – Keene State added Matt Griffin and Alec Corliss to its men’s lacrosse coaching staff as assistants. Griffin previously coached at the high school level, while Corliss was a volunteer assistant with the Owls last season … Dom DeNapoli is the new assistant men’s lacrosse coach at St. John’s (New York).

Bowling Green has accepted an invitation to join the Western Collegiate Hockey Association for the 2013-14 season.

Miscellaneous

DePauw head volleyball coach Deb Zellers collected her 400th career victory on October 1. Zellers is in her 18th season at the helm of the Tigers.

Deaths

Former Temple softball and women’s basketball coach Veronica “Ronnie” Maurek passed away at the age of 66.
