Leon G. Kerry

Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association commissioner Leon G. Kerry retired, effective immediately. Kerry began working at the CIAA in 1988 and has been commissioner for the past 22 years.  Monique Smith, the conference’s associate commissioner and senior woman administrator, has been named interim commissioner.

The Nazareth men’s ice hockey program has been accepted for membership in the ECAC West. The squad, set to begin play in 2012, is the league’s sixth member.

Sport sponsorship

Wentworth Institute elevated women’s lacrosse from a club to varsity program. The program, the Leopards’ 16th, will begin play in the 2012-13 academic year under the leadership of Jess Blair as head coach and Julie Lancaster as an assistant.
