Wisconsin-La Crosse head women’s volleyball coach Sheila Perkins has retired. Perkins completed her 18th season at the helm in October. She will continue to teach in the institution’s Exercise and Sport Science department. Perkins coached 23 years overall.

Other transactions

Athletics directors – Ole Miss Athletics Director Pete Boone will step down within the next year. Boone held the role for 13 years.

Associate athletics directors – Kansas State promoted Reid Sigmon to senior associate athletics director/chief operating officer and Jill Shields to senior associate athletics director while designating her senior woman administrator.

Assistant athletics directors – Kansas State elevated Kenny Lannou to assistant athletics directors for communications. Lannou spent the past four years as director of athletics communications/sports information director.

Coaches

Football – Houston Nutt, head football coach at Ole Miss, will resign at the end of the season. Nutt became the Rebels’ 36th head coach in 2007.

Sport sponsorship

Kennesaw State is adding women’s lacrosse, with competition beginning in 2013. It is now the 17th sport for the Owls.
