Registration for NCAA Women Coaches Academies begins

Applications will be accepted for the 2011 NCAA Women Coaches Academies beginning Thursday at noon EST. The Academies are June 1-5 and December 13-17 in Denver and June 11-15 in Atlanta, with 42 available positions in each time slot.

The WCA is designed to give coaches the opportunity to understand their expanding role as a coach. Skill development, retention and mentoring are the cornerstones of the program. Participants are trained to become more efficient, productive, resourceful and successful.

Four educational tracks are offered: philosophy and fundamentals, management skills, communications strategies and career development.

Tuition, room and board are provided for coaches employed at NCAA institutions.
