Jack Graham

Colorado State appointed Jack Graham its new athletics director. Graham, a quarterback for the Rams from 1973-74, has previously made a career as a business leader. He replaces Paul Kowalczyk, who was removed from the position after serving since 2006.

Other transactions

Assistant athletics directors – Black Hills State named Tim Collins assistant athletics director of external operations. Collins is in his second season as an assistant men’s basketball coach and will assume his new duties on a fulltime basis when the season is completed.

Coaches

Football – Jeff Pierce will not be retained as Ferris State’s head football coach. Pierce led the Bulldogs for 17 seasons and spent another 12 years as an assistant. Chris Boden will serve as the interim head coach … Jackson State renewed Rick Comegy’s contract as its head football coach through 2013. Comegy recently completed his sixth season at the helm … Texas A&M relieved Mike Sherman of his duties as head football coach. Sherman has coached the Aggies since 2008.

Men’s and women’s soccer – Andy Steger, head men’s soccer coach at St. Norbert, resigned after four seasons with the Green Knights.

Men’s and women’s tennis – Scott Frew will step downstep down as Albion’s head men’s and women’s tennis coach while alum Brandon Still will take over on an interim basis.

Men’s and women’s volleyball – Austin Peay will not renew the contract of head volleyball coach Bill Egbert. Egbert just finished his first season leading the Lady Govs.

Conferences

The Capital Athletic Conference is adding men’s and women’s indoor track and field to its list of championship sports.
