Ladd, Prewitt join DII Management Council

Tim Ladd, faculty athletics representative at Palm Beach Atlantic, and Will Prewitt, commissioner of the Great American Conference, have been elected to the Division II Management Council.

Their selections were ratified Thursday by the Division II Presidents Council.

In his role as faculty representative at Palm Beach Atlantic, Ladd has been active in NCAA affairs, having attended all FARA Fall Forums and NCAA Regional Rules Seminars since 2004. He also has participated in every NCAA Convention since 2005 and took part in the 2009 Division II FAR Fellows Institute.

Ladd presently is associate dean of education at Palm Beach Atlantic and teaches field-based undergraduate and graduate education courses, including assessment, content reading, educational psychology and social studies methods in a teacher preparation program. He also has taught at Wayland Baptist and in public schools in Dallas.

Ladd holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Baylor and a Ph.D. from Texas A&M-Commerce.

Prewitt became the first commissioner of the Great American Conference in 2010. Before that, he had served 11 years as associate commissioner of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. 

He was sports information director at Tusculum from 1998 to 1999 and an assistant SID at Appalachian State from 1995 to 1998.

Prewitt currently is a member of the NCAA Football Rules Committee and had also served on the Division II Championships Committee and the Division II Men’s Golf Committee. He also has been a member of regional advisory committees in baseball, football and softball.

Prewitt is a graduate of the University of Mississippi.
