    Randolph-Macon Athletics Director Denis Kanach will retire at the end of the 2009-10 academic year. Kanach spent the last six years of a 35-year career at Randolph-Macon. He was an administrator and coach at Georgetown for many years before becoming the Yellow Jackets' athletics director, including stints as chief operating officer of athletics and construction manager, fundraiser and sports administrator.

    Presidents and chancellors – North Carolina-Pembroke named Kyle Carter chancellor.

    Coaches

    Men's basketball – Butler extended Brad Stevens' contract through the 2021-22 season … Siena promoted assistant Mitch Buonaguro. Buonaguro spent the last five years of a 35-year career with the Saints … UC Irvine selected Russell Turner, assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors. Turner has coaching experience at Stanford and Wake Forest … Robert Morris extended the contract of Mike Rice through the 2016-17 season.

    Men's basketball assistants – Southern California tabbed Dieter Horton as an assistant and promoted Bob Cantu to associate head coach.

    Women's basketball – Claflin hired Tiffany Tucker, former assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Francis Marion … Missouri selected Robin Pingeton, who spent the last seven years at the helm of the Illinois State program. Pingeton was also head coach at her alma mater, St. Ambrose, for eight seasons.

    Football – South Carolina State named Willie Jeffries head football coach emeritus.

    Football assistants – Monmouth named Juwan Jackson defensive line coach.

    Men's soccer – Larry Zelenz resigned as men's soccer coach at Gustavus Adolphus.

    Staff

    Facilities – Nic Ryan has joined the Detroit Mercy athletics department as an assistant facilities director.
