    Deb Andress returned to Penn State-Abington as head coach of the women's lacrosse program. Andress took a medical leave of absence during the 2008-09 season and was able to assist the team on a part-time basis last season.

    Other transactions

    Football assistants – Kenny Walker joined the Gallaudet staff to assist with the defensive lineman. Walker was a football student-athlete at Nebraska from 1986 to 1990 and played professionally in the NFL in 1991 and 1992.

    Softball – Gallaudet selected Joseph Kolcun as head softball coach. Kolcun served as the university's intramurals and summer camps coordinator the past three years. He also served as an assistant coach for the baseball program in 2008 … Penn State-Abington hired David Hoch as head coach. Hoch previously coached at the high school level … Jordan Stevens was named head coach at Valparaiso following a season at Union (New York) as head softball coach.

    Conferences

    The Northwest Conference selected Wendy Guthrie as interim commissioner. Guthrie was formerly an administrator at the West Coast Conference and also served as the director of athletics at Seattle from 2004 to 2006. Guthrie assumes the role vacated by Matt Newman, who spent three years as the league's first full-time commissioner.
