    Rhode Island announced that Gregg Burke, deputy director of athletics, will take over as head coach of the men's golf program, effective in May 2011. Burke, who will retain his current position, will serve as an assistant coach with team until current head coach Tom Drennan retires.

    Other transactions

    Coaches

    Men's basketball – Long Beach State extended the contract of head coach Dan Monson through the 2015-16 season. Monson is entering his fourth season with the program.

    Men's basketball assistants – Texas A&M-Kingsville selected Kyle Issacs as an assistant coach after two seasons as an assistant men's basketball coach at the junior college level.

    Women's basketball – Hartford hired Ashley Sammons as head coach. Sammons was formerly a women's basketball student-athlete at West Chester and most recently coached at the youth level.

    Women's basketball assistants – Cleveland State named Bernard Scott an assistant coach. Scott was formerly an assistant coach with the women's basketball program at Youngstown State.

    Men's and women's lacrosse – Lycoming named Todd Hodgson as head coach of the men's lacrosse program. Hodgson was most recently head coach of the men's lacrosse team at Manhattanville. He replaces Brian Anken, who became the head men's coach at VMI.

    Men's and women's lacrosse assistants – Jessica Davos was hired as an assistant coach for the women's lacrosse program at Albany. Davos was an assistant for the women's lacrosse program at Harvard the past two seasons.

    Rowing – Santa Clara named John Wojtkiewicz head coach of the women's rowing program. Wojtkiewicz most recently led the men's rowing program at Rhode Island.

    Softball – Appalachian State selected Shae Wesley as the third head coach in program history after Amy Herrington left to be an assistant coach at Chattanooga.

    Softball assistants – Stephanie Taylor was elevated to full-time assistant coach at Cleveland State after her service as a volunteer assistant with the program.

    Men's and women's swimming and diving – Bruce Brown, head men's and women's swimming coach at Pomona-Pitzer, announced his retirement. Assistant men's and women's swimming and diving coach Michael Wong was elevated to interim head coach of the programs.

    Men's and women's swimming and diving assistants – Siena named Sean Bradke as women's diving coach. Bradke spent the past five seasons as head diving coach and swimming and diving recruiting coordinator for the men's and women's swimming and diving programs at SUNY Potsdam.

    Wrestling – Josh Zupancic was selected as an assistant coach at Cleveland State. Zupancic most recently coached at the club level while he was a graduate student at Oklahoma.

    Staff

    Athletic training – Cleveland State named Chris Lacsamana as head athletic trainer after his eight years in a similar position at Alabama State.

    Sports information – Travis Holmes was hired as the sports information specialist for new media at Cleveland State. Holmes was previously an intern at Cincinnati … Detroit hired Mitch Wigness as sports information director after five years on staff at Indianapolis.
