    Kentucky President Lee Todd announced plans to retire as president of his alma mater on June 30, 2011. Todd has presided there since July 2001.

    Coaches

    Baseball – Andy Ham resigned as head baseball coach at Northland to accept a similar position at Lourdes.

    Men's and women's cross country and track and field assistants – Southern Mississippi hired Adrian Ghioraie as an assistant coach of the men's and women's track and field program. Ghioraie was a member of the Kent State track and field staff the past two seasons.

    Men's and women's ice hockey assistants – Jennifer Michaels was named assistant coach of the women's ice hockey program at St. Michael's. Michaels was an ice hockey student-athlete at Manhattanville during the 2005-06 season and most recently coached at the youth level.

    Men's and women's soccer assistants – Illinois selected Billy Barnes as an assistant coach of the women's soccer program. Barnes is a graduate of Illinois and has worked with the program previously, in addition to experience gained at Southern Mississippi and with the Chicago Red Stars of Women's Professional Soccer.

    Men's and women's tennis assistants – Seth Pamperin was named assistant women's tennis coach at Alverno. Pamperin is currently a men's tennis student-athlete at nearby Carroll.

    Staff

    Athletics communications – Western New England hired Matt Pettnicchi as an athletics communication assistant. Pettnicchi spent the past three years serving as the sports information coordinator and assistant commissioner for sports information at The Commonwealth Coast Conference.

    Milestones

    Rockhurst women's volleyball coach Tracy Rietzke became the sixth coach in NCAA women's volleyball history to earn 1,000 or more career victories. Rietzke earned wins 1,000 and 1,001 as Rockhurst opened up the 2010 season with victories over Tiffin and Shepard. He currently leads all active NCAA Division II women's volleyball coaches in career wins, with 829 match victories in 22 seasons at Rockhurst and 172 wins in six seasons at Kansas Wesleyan of the NAIA.
