    Rocky Rees, head football coach at Shippensburg, announced his retirement effective at the end of the academic year. Rees, the winningest football coach in Shippensburg history, has led the Red Raider football program for 21 years and has 40 years of coaching experience overall at five institutions.

    Other transactions

    Associate directors of athletics – Joyce Jaleel was promoted to associate director of athletics at Emory. Jaleel, previously the assistant director of athletics for intercollegiate services, also was designated as the department's senior woman administrator. 

    Assistant directors of athletics – Emory appointed Angela Duprey assistant director of athletics/external relations. Duprey previously worked with event management and marketing in the athletics department. Emory also appointed Meg Ahrens as assistant director of athletics/facilities and recreation.

    Coaches

    Baseball – Arkansas-Monticello selected John Harvey as the 11th head baseball coach in program history. Harvey spent the past six seasons as head coach of the baseball program at Henderson State. 

    Staff

    Development – Dennis Carlesso was named the director of development for athletics and student facilities at Detroit. Carlesso has worked in development for the university since 2009.

    Event management – Emory selected Elijah Ajayi as event management/marketing director.

    Sports information – Lehman hired Andrew Pearson as director of sports information. Pearson worked in the NBA the past five years in various editorial and production roles.
