Thomas (Maine) appointed Laura Bickford head coach of the women's lacrosse program and the women's tennis program. Bickford previously served as head coach of the women's tennis program. Bickford is a recent graduate of New England where she was a four-year lacrosse student-athlete.

Men's and women's lacrosse – Randolph-Macon named Caitlin Erickson head coach of the women's lacrosse program. Erickson was most recently an assistant coach for the women's lacrosse program at her alma mater Mary Washington.

Deaths

Bradley baseball student-athlete Phil Kaiser died October 18. Kaiser was a junior and primarily served as a pitcher, first baseman and designated hitter during his two-year collegiate career.

Committee vacancies

The Division I Initial-Eligibility Waivers Committee is seeking additional nominations. The committee is seeking nominees with expertise in learning disabilities and with experience in reviewing international student records. The committee has five January 2011 vacancies, two of which must have expertise in learning disabilities and one must have expertise in reviewing international student records. The deadline for submitting nomination materials is November 19. Nominations must be submitted by conferences.
