    Tom Tallach, director of athletics at Centenary (Louisiana), announced his resignation effective October 15. Tallach arrived at the college in August 2007 and his tenure was marked by the decision to reclassify the athletics programs from Division I to Division III.  Dave Voskuil, the college's vice president of enrollment services, will serve as the interim athletics director.

    Coaches

    Softball – Coppin State promoted Larry Hineline to head coach. Hineline served as an assistant coach with the Eagles program the past two seasons.

    Men's and women's tennis – Akron selected Brandon Padgett as head coach of the women's tennis program. Padgett was head coach of the women's tennis program at Kennesaw State the past three seasons. He replaces Jeffrey Wyshner, who accepted the women's tennis head coach position at Wake Forest.

    Staff

    Athletic training – Danielle DeLay and Heather Procopio were hired as assistant athletic trainers at Mercy. DeLay was a student assistant athletic trainer at SUNY Cortland and most recently worked at an orthopedics office. Procopio was most recently as student athletic trainer at Southern Connecticut State.

    Development – Lance Wilkerson joined the Evansville staff as the director of development. Wilkerson, who has covered Evansville athletics the past 17 years as a local television station sports director, will also be the play-by-play radio announcer for the men's basketball program.

    Sports information – Gettysburg promoted Corey Jewart from assistant director of sports information to associate director of sports information.
