    Lynchburg recently dedicated its track to Jack Toms, former head coach of the men's cross country and men's and women's track and field programs there. The Jack M. Toms '69 Track of Champions honors the coach for his 31 years of service with the program.

    Other transactions

    Coaches

    Baseball – South Carolina extended the contract of head coach Ray Tanner through the 2015 season. Tanner has guided the program for 15 years and is coming off of a national championship season.

    Women's basketball – Joe Legerski, head coach of the women's basketball program at Wyoming, agreed to a contract extension through the 2014-15 season. Legerski is entering his eighth season with the program.

    Men's and women's cross country and track and field – West Chester promoted Michael Murawski to head coach of the men's and women's track and field programs. Murawski began as an assistant coach with the programs in the spring.

    Men's and women's lacrosse – Ashley Gilroy was hired as the first women's lacrosse head coach at Catawba. Gilroy was previously an assistant coach for the women's lacrosse program at Randolph-Macon. The Catawba program is set to begin its inaugural season in the spring of 2012.

    Conferences

    The Eastern College Athletic Conference elected Fredina Ingold, director of athletics at Penn State Altoona, as the next president of the conference. Ingold will serve a two-year term from October 2010 until October 2012.
