    North Texas hired Dan McCarney as head coach of the football program. McCarney was most recently an assistant coach at Florida. He previously served as head coach at Iowa State for 12 seasons, from 1995 to 2006.

    Coaches

    Football – Miami (Florida) released head coach Randy Shannon. Shannon guided the program for four seasons … Bill Lynch, head coach at Indiana, was let go after three years leading the program … Ricky Bustle will not return as head coach at Louisiana-Lafayette following nine seasons at the helm … Doug Martin resigned as head coach at Kent State. Assistant head coach Jerry McManus was promoted to interim head coach … Augustana (Illinois) promoted Rob Cushman to head coach following three seasons as the defensive coordinator. Cushman replaces Jim Barnes, who resigned after 11 seasons as head coach … Vanderbilt head coach Robbie Caldwell stepped down after one season. Caldwell was elevated to head coach following the departure of Bobby Johnson at the beginning of the season … Steve Roberts resigned as head coach at Arkansas State after nine seasons.

    Men's and women's golf – Bemidji State hired Ekren Miller as head coach of the men's golf team.

    Men's and women's soccer – Bryan Madej was elevated to head coach of the women's soccer program at Methodist on a permanent basis after he filled the role on an interim basis this season … Skidmore announced the resignation of Sarah Raymond, head coach of the women's soccer program … Des Lawless announced his resignation as head coach of the men's soccer program at Shenandoah. Lawless recently completed his fifth season with the program.

    Softball assistants – Massachusetts-Lowell hired Jen Yee as an assistant coach. Yee recently completed her collegiate softball career at Georgia Tech.

    Men's and women's tennis – Carol Weymuller announced her retirement as head coach of the men's tennis program at Hobart, effective at the end of the season. Weymuller is now in her 16th season with the program.
