Jimmie Keeling announced his retirement after 21 years as head coach of the Hardin-Simmons football program. Keeling leaves the school as the winningest football coach in program history.
Other transactions
Assistant directors of athletics – Virginia promoted Adrien Harraway to assistant athletics director for academic affairs for football. Harraway has served as director of academic affairs for football since 2007.
Coaches
Football – Scott Downing was relieved of his duties as head coach at Northern Colorado.
Men's and women's golf – Carthage named Rick Leslie head coach of the women's golf program after Greg Genz resigned November 1.
Men's and women's lacrosse – Richard Stockton named former student-athletes Chris Cammarata and Alec Chisholm assistant coaches of the men's lacrosse program. Cammarata was on the team in 2006 and 2007, while Chisholm competed for the Ospreys the past three seasons.
Staff
Sports information – Richard Stern returned to his alma mater, San Jose State, as an assistant sports information director. Stern previously worked as an assistant sports information director at Humboldt State.
Deaths
Andre Menzies, a former basketball student-athlete at Lehman, died November 16 at the age of 35. Menzies competed on the team during the 1998-99 season and was most recently serving as a New York City police officer.
