    Montevallo chose Chandler Rose as the seventh head baseball coach in program history. Rose comes to Montevallo after spending the previous four seasons as head assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Air Force. Before that, he spent one season as the assistant at Florida Gulf Coast.

    Other transactions

    Athletics directors – Kent State Athletics Director Laing Kennedy is retiring next month after 16 years at the school. He was athletics director at Cornell for 11 years before that.

    Associate athletics directors – North Carolina Central named Vincent Brown associate athletics director of finance and business.

    Coaches

    Men's basketball assistants – UCF promoted Tim Thomas to assistant basketball coach.

    Football assistants – Former Tennessee lineman Spencer Riley has been named to coach the offensive line at Tusculum …Dubuque hired Bob Fello as an associate head coach. Fello has coached at Marshall and The Citadel.

    Softball – New Mexico softball coach Ty Singleton resigned.

    Men's and women's tennis – UTSA head men's tennis coach Oliver Trittenwein will resign his post July 31 to pursue other career opportunities. He has been with the Roadrunners for 11 seasons.

    Men's and women's volleyball – Texas A&M-Commerce hired Craig Case as head women's volleyball coach. Case has spent the last four seasons at Valley City State University in Valley City, North Dakota.

    Men's and women's volleyball assistants – Colorado State-Pueblo assistant women's volleyball coach Kelli Berg resigned after having served there for the past two seasons.
