    Findlay selected Katherine Rowe Fell as the institution's next president. Fell, currently vice president for advancement at Centenary (Louisiana), will begin her new job on July 1. She began her tenure at Centenary in 1986 as an English professor. She moved to administration in 1998 and was named to her current post in 2004.

    Other transactions

    Presidents and chancellors – Jon Whitmore, president of San Jose State, will resign to become chief executive officer of ACT, Inc. He begins the new job September 1.

    Coaches

    Baseball – Alabama-Huntsville named interim head coach Hunter Royer head coach on a permanent basis.

    Men's basketball – Post hired Al Sokaitis as head men's basketball coach. He has head coaching experience with Western State, Alaska Fairbanks and Southern Maine, among others.

    Men's basketball assistants – Appalachian State hired Rick Scruggs, Bobby Kummer and Justin Gainey. Scruggs was head coach at Gardner-Webb for the past 15 years. Krummer spent the past six seasons as an assistant at Charlotte, and Gainey spent last season as an assistant at Elon.

    Men's and women's soccer – West Virginia Wesleyan hired Patrick Holguin as its new women's soccer coach. Holguin comes to Wesleyan after serving as the men's and women's head soccer coach at Marietta College … Patrick Snyder resigned as the head men's soccer coach at Felician.

    Conferences

    The Pacific-10 Conference named Violet Palmer coordinator of women's basketball officiating. Palmer comes to the conference after years of officiating experience, most notably as the only female referee in the NBA … Matt Ten Haken will step down as the assistant executive director of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference at the end of the month to become the sports sales manager at the Fox Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau in Appleton, Wisconsin.
