    Frank Martin signed a new contract extending through 2014-15 as men's basketball coach at Kansas State, where he is completing his third season and was named Big 12 coach of the year this season by The Associated Press and by league coaches. He is the first men's coach to compile 20-win seasons during each of his first three years at the school.

    Men's basketballRick Scruggs was dismissed at Gardner-Webb, where his teams compiled a 199-218 record during his 15 seasons in the post … Rand Chappell was dismissed at Central Arkansas with a 104-104 record through seven seasons at the school.

    Women's basketballCarol Russell resigned at Nebraska-Kearney, where she led the Lopers to a 163-79 record and five Division II Women's Basketball Championship appearances in eight years … Trina Patterson resigned after eight seasons at Albany (New York), where she compiled an 82-153 record … Marnie Dacko was dismissed at Massachusetts with an eight-year record of 98-135 … Steven Cochran resigned at Concordia University Texas, where his teams were 20-28 through two seasons.

    Volleyball Paul Lawson was hired as head women's coach at Alverno after seven seasons at Saint Mary (Kansas). He also has coached at Dominican (Illinois) and Marycrest International.

    Conferences

    Natalie West was named director of communications at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, where the recent Simmons graduate has worked as a communications specialist.

    Associations

    Patti Phillips was selected as executive director of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators, effective April 1. She has served for the past 10 years as executive director of the Women's Intersport Network of Kansas City (WIN-KC). Phillips succeeds Jennifer Alley, who is retiring after serving in the post since 1996.
