    Bobby Lutz was released from his contract as men's basketball coach at Charlotte, where he departs as the school's winningest coach. He led the 49ers to five Division I Men's Basketball Championship appearances in 12 seasons while building a 218-158 record. Lutz's 21-year coaching record of 399-249 includes a nine-year stint at Pfeiffer.

    Men's basketballKirk Speraw dismissed at UCF, where his teams had compiled a 279-233 record since he accepted the post in 1993 … Todd Lickliter dismissed after three seasons at Iowa after coaching the Hawkeyes to a 38-58 record. He came to the school after the National Association of Basketball Coaches named him Division I coach of the year for leading Butler to the Sweet Sixteen in 2007.

    Women's basketballCindy Martin resigned after two seasons as head coach at Youngstown State… Kristi Ellenberger selected as head coach for the reinstated program at Notre Dame (Maryland). The former Limestone basketball and softball student-athlete has coached since 2007 at Baltimore's Northeast High School.
