    College at Brockport named Noah D. LeFevre director of athletics. He replaces Linda Case, who retired last month after 23 years with the school. LeFevre has been associate athletics director at New York U. since 2001. At New York U., he was responsible for marketing and brand management, as well as all aspects of home contests.

    Other transactions

    Presidents and chancellors – Peace chose Debra Townsley to serve as president. She will replace current president Laure Bingham, who will resign June 30.

    Assistant athletics directors – Regis (Massachusetts) promoted Mark Clemente, former women's soccer coach and women's lacrosse coach. Clemente will oversee operations … Detroit hired Jeff Latinen to oversee facilities and special events. He was assistant arena manager of Yost Ice Arena at Michigan for three years.

    Senior woman administrators – Regis (Massachusetts) designated Julie Plant as senior woman administrator. Plant is women's basketball coach and a lecturer at the school.

    Coaches

    Men's basketball – Rutgers-Camden hired Jason Curbison, who spent the past two years at Penn State-Abington.

    Women's basketball – Rutgers-Camden hired Gail Gilchrest, who spent the past three seasons as head coach at Drew.

    Men's and women's golf – High Point tabbed Vici Pate Flesher for its women's program. Flesher led Methodist to seven consecutive Division III national championships.

    Men's and women's ice hockey – Maine men's coach Tim Whitehead signed a three-year contract extension with the Black Bears, keeping him at the school through the 2013-14 season.

    Men's and women's lacrosse – Delaware hired Kateri Linville, an assistant coach at Notre Dame and former Blue Hen … Regis (Massachusetts) promoted assistant women's coach Liz Conant to the head women's position. Conant will also coach women's soccer.

    Men's and women's soccer – Kelly McEleney resigned from the women's program at Peace. She led the Pacers for three seasons.

    Softball – Saint Leo selected John Conway, former head coach at St. Louis.

    Men's and women's tennis – Regis (Massachusetts) selected John Ciarleglio for both its men's and women's tennis programs.

    Deaths

    Former Stanford swimming coach Tom Haynie died last month in Santa Barbara. Hayne coached at Stanford from 1947 to 1960, winning 11 conference titles. He was 94 … Former Hofstra football coach Joe Gardi died June 2 after suffering a stroke. He was 71. Gardi led the Pride from 1990 to 2005, compiling a 119-62-2 record.
