    UC Davis men's and women's track and field and cross country coaches Jon and Deanne Vochatzer will retire June 30 after combining for nearly 50 seasons of service with the Aggies. Together, the Vochatzers (husband and wife) have led UC Davis to several conference and individual national championships and coached two NCAA Woman of the Year award winners. Current associate head coach Byron Talley will become interim director of cross country and track and field. Jon Vochatzer began at UC Davis in 1979, taking a few years off to coach in Germany in the 1980s. Deanne joined the program in 1989, left for Cal Poly for two seasons and returned in 1992.

    Other transactions

    Presidents and chancellors – Carleton selected Steven G. Poskanzer to be president. Poskanzer most recently served as president at the State University of New York at New Paltz … Montevallo President Philip Williams will become president at McNeese State July 1. He replaces Robert Hebert, who will retire June 30 after 23 years as president.

    Coaches

    Baseball – Western Michigan released Randy Ford. Ford, a 1979 graduate of the school, served the Broncos for six seasons.

    Men's basketball assistants – Robert Morris selected Matt Hahn, who spent the last five seasons as an assistant under Mike Lonergan… Duquesne hired Greg Gary, former head coach at Centenary (Louisiana).

    Women's basketball assistants – Manhattan tabbed Caitlin Flood. A former Jasper, Flood has been playing professionally in England for the past two years.

    Men's and women's swimming and divingKyle Dunaway, who has served as an assistant at DePauw and Wabash, has been named head swimming and diving coach at Transylvania.  Dunaway replaces George Villarreal, who resigned recently to pursue other opportunities.
