    Towson named Ted Zaleski Jr. as interim athletics director, replacing Mike Hermann. Hermann resigned June 15. Zaleski has served as chief of staff to Towson President Robert Caret since 2003. He will remain in that role until a search committee finds a permanent athletics director.

    Other transactions

    Directors of athletics – Damon Evans resigned as athletics director at Georgia. Evans also had been chair of the Division I Leadership Council.

    Coaches

    Baseball – Winthrop head baseball coach Joe Hudak has been relieved of his coaching duties and will be reassigned within the athletics department.

    Baseball assistants – Wentworth Institute hired Matt Dannenhoffer and Pete Oggeri, both former Leopards … Ohio State tabbed alumnus Mike Stafford to be pitching coach. Staffard played for the Buckeyes from 1994-98 and coached in the minor leagues.

    Men's basketball assistants – George Washington selected Donyell Marshall, who retired last year after 15 years in the NBA … Mercer promoted Spencer Wright from assistant coach to associate head coach. Wright is entering his third season on the Bears' staff in 2010-11 and oversees the program's recruiting efforts, in addition to his coaching duties.

    Men's and women's cross country and track and field – Coker hired Kevin Kelley as the Cobras new head men's and women's cross country coach. Kelley takes over for Keith Solverson, who led the Cobra men and women for the past two seasons … Bryn Mawr chose Jason Hewitt as its new cross country and track and field coach. Hewitt was head coach at Mount Holyoke for four seasons.

    Football assistants – Southern California did not renew Todd McNair's contract after six seasons.

    Men's and women's lacrosse – Oswego State hired Ryan Martin as head men's lacrosse coach. Martin joins the Lakers after having served as the assistant coach at Nazareth for the past four seasons.

    Softball – Oswego State selected Casey Price as head softball coach. Price recently completed her first season as a volunteer assistant pitching coach at Massachusetts-Lowell.

    Softball assistants – Florida Southern selected former Moc Michelle Tatlock. Tatlock completed her playing career in 2008 and played professionally in Philadelphia for two seasons.

    Women's volleyball assistants – South Carolina tabbed Michelle Collier, assistant at South Florida.

    Associations

    The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics elected Dave Roach, director of athletics at Colgate, to serve as president for 2010-11. Roach replaces outgoing president Randy Spetman, director of athletics at Florida State. Also elected to serve NACDA for the 2010-11 term were 1st Vice President Dan Guerrero, director of athletics at UCLA; 2nd Vice President Kevin Anderson, director of athletics at Army; and 3rd Vice President Mike Alden, director of athletics at Missouri. Executive Committee members selected were ADs Chet Gladchuk of Navy, Paul Krebs of New Mexico, Lew Perkins of Kansas and Joyce Wong of Eastern Connecticut State. Carla Williams, senior associate athletics director at Georgia, and Joni Comstock, NCAA senior vice president for championships, were selected as at-large representatives.
