    Mike Grandall, head coach of the men's cross country and track and field program at North Dakota, announced his retirement after 31 years at the university. As the longest-tenured member of North Dakota's coaching staff, Grandall began his career as a graduate assistant in 1979. He was named head coach of the women's cross country program in 1980 and moved into his current role in 1982.

    Coaches

    Baseball – Derek Dunaway, assistant coach at Mary Hardin-Baylor, was named interim head coach after head coach Micah Wells resigned.

    Women's basketball – Hilbert named SUNY Geneseo assistant coach Rob Peterson head coach.

    Women's basketball assistants – Cassie Bro was hired as an assistant coach at Barry. A graduate assistant with the program during the 2006-07 season, Bro spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at Air Force.

    Men's and women's cross country and track and field assistants – Texas A&M-Kingsville named Lige Stewardson assistant coach of the men's and women's cross country and track and field programs.

    Men's and women's golf – St. Catherine hired Kristine Wessinger to lead its recently added women's golf program. Wessinger, an associate head coach for the women's team at Minnesota, will start developing the program for its inaugural season in fall 2011.

    Men's and women's hockey – Quinnipiac men's hockey head coach Rand Pecknold signed a contract extension through the 2014-15 season.

    Men's and women's soccer – New England hired Matt Gnall as head coach of the men's soccer program, replacing Andy Biggs, who accepted an assistant coaching position with the men's soccer team at Brown. Gnall was an assistant coach of the men's soccer program at Williams last season.

    Men's and women's soccer assistants – Barry hired Henry Apaloo as assistant men's soccer coach after a year as a graduate assistant with the program … Denise Brolly, graduate assistant for the women's soccer program at Barry, was named an assistant coach for the team.

    Men's and women's volleyball – TeAna Tramel was hired as head coach of the women's volleyball program at Nicholls State after two seasons as an assistant coach for the women's volleyball program at Washington State.

    Conferences

    The Great Lakes Valley Conference selected Angela Red as an intern for the 2010-11 academic year. Red recently completed her master's degree in sport management from Southern Illinois Edwardsville and will assist the conference with media relations, compliance, championships and SAAC.
