Plattsburgh State named Erin Conner assistant athletics director for marketing and game operations. Connor previously worked at Cornell and SUNY Cortland. The position was made possible by the NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship Grant Program.

Directors of athletics – Alabama State named former Tuskegee AD Stacy L. Danley II to the same position. 

Associate directors of athletics – Tom Monagan, assistant athletic trainer at Central Arkansas, was named associate athletics director and head athletic trainer at Texas-Dallas … WPI hired Ann McCarron as associate athletics director. McCarron was the director of member services and marketing for athletics, physical education and recreation at MIT before accepting this position … Allegheny named cross country and track and field coach Bill Ross associate director of athletics and recreation services. Ross led the Gators for 14 years and will now oversee the university's athletics facilities in addition to other responsibilities.

Coaches

Baseball – Walt White was named head coach at Cal State Monterey Bay after serving as an assistant coach at Sonoma State the past 15 seasons.

Women's basketball – Bard hired Sarah Lombard, assistant coach at Rensselaer the past two seasons, as the program's head coach … Michael Meek was named head coach at George Fox after 13 seasons of coaching women's basketball at the high school level.

Men's and women's cross country and track and field – Otterbein named Brenda Buffington head coach of the women's cross country program. The former high school coach will also serve as an assistant coach for the men's and women's track and field programs … Scott Alpeter was hired as head coach of the men's cross country program at Otterbein. Alpeter returns to his alma mater where he will also be an assistant coach for the men's and women's track and field programs.

Softball – Texas-Dallas named Cassie Crabtree head coach. Crabtree was an assistant at Texas-Tyler.

Men's and women's soccer – Danielle Fotopoulos was named head coach of the women's soccer program at Eckerd. Fotopoulus previously worked with the women's soccer programs at LSU and her alma mater Florida … Eckerd hired Steve Magee as head coach of the men's soccer program after three seasons as an assistant coach with the men's soccer program at North Carolina-Wilmington.

Men's and women's tennis – Chris O'Brien was appointed head coach of the men's and women's tennis programs at Connecticut College after serving as interim head coach of both programs since February … Clayton State hired LeTrone Mason to replace Tamas Szabados as head coach of the women's tennis program. Mason is a former student-athlete and assistant coach at Florida A&M.

Men's and women's volleyball – Lees-McRae named James Goodridge head coach of the men's volleyball program. Goodridge previously served as the interim head coach of the women's volleyball program at Mount Olive.

Staff

Communications – Susquehanna hired Katie Meier as director of athletics communication. Meier assumes the role vacated by Robert Healy … West Florida named Rob Walden assistant sports information director. Walden was most recently a sports information intern at Charleston Southern.

Conferences

The Western Athletic Conference named Brad Jones to replace Elizabeth Kampfe as director of championships. Jones was the director of championships at the Atlantic 10 Conference this past season and worked at the conference since 2005.

Deaths

John Chapman, a former Monmouth (Illinois) wrestling student-athlete, died July 24 after suffering a heart attack. Chapman was a two-time All-American and coached at the high school level since 2000 … Former Wingate women's basketball coach Johnny Jacumin died June 17 at the age of 71. Jacumin led the Bulldogs for 27 seasons and retired at the end of the 2006-07 season with a 591-218 record.
