Utah Valley hired Mark Tschaggeny as the director of compliance. Tschaggeny was most recently a governance intern at the NCAA and is a graduate of Brigham Young's J. Reuben Clark School of Law.

Directors of athletics – Messiah named Jack Cole interim director of athletics. Cole is the health and human performance department chair at the college.

Associate directors of athletics – Boston U. hired Jennifer Barsell as associate athletics director for marketing communications. Barsell was a member of the San Diego Padres the past 11 years … Kerri Fagan was named associate director of athletics at Hamilton after serving as the senior associate commissioner of the America East Conference since 2008 … Julio Freire, an NCAA Fellows Leadership Development Program alumnus, was hired as a senior associate athletics director at UNLV.  Freire was previously the associate AD for development at Arizona.

Assistant directors of athletics -- Massachusetts-Lowell named field hockey head coach Shannon Hlebichuk as assistant athletics director. Hlebichuk will remain head coach of the program she has guided since 2002 and participated on as a student-athlete from 1994 to 1998.

Coaches

Baseball – James Madison extended the contract of head coach Spanky McFarland through the 2014 season. McFarland has guided the Diamond Dukes for 13 years.

Women's basketball assistants – Holli Howard-Carpenter joined the Cal State East Bay program as the associate head coach. Carpenter was a former student-athlete for the Pioneers and rejoins the program after serving as an assistant coach the last four years at Cal State Chico.

Men's and women's gymnastics – Jeff Thompson was named head coach of the women's gymnastics program at Penn State. Thompson was the women's gymnastics head coach at Auburn for the past 11 years.

Men's and women's gymnastics assistants – Penn State hired Rachelle Thompson as associate head coach of the women's gymnastics program. Thompson joins her husband Jeff Thompson after 11 seasons at Auburn.

Men's and women's lacrosse – Assumption named Abbey Capobianco head coach of the women's lacrosse program. Capobianco was an assistant coach Bentley this past season… Elizabeth Ghilardi was hired at Skidmore as head coach of the women's lacrosse program after a season as an assistant women's coach at Robert Morris.

Men's and women's soccer – Louisiana College hired Bruce Deaton as head coach of the women's soccer program. Deaton, who previously coached at the high school level, takes over for Craig Harwell, who guided both the men's and women's soccer programs and will now focus solely on the men's program … Matt Kellogg was named head coach of the women's soccer program at Ferris State after two seasons as an assistant coach with the Morehead State women's soccer program.

Softball – Jamie Madewell-Grodecki was named head coach at Georgia College after three seasons coaching at the junior college level. Madewell-Grodecki also has six years of coaching experience at the Division I and II levels … Cal State Northridge named Tairia Flowers head coach after four seasons as an assistant coach at Long Beach State.

Men's and women's tennis – Lycoming named Leroy Baer head coach of the men's and women's tennis programs. Baer spent the past six years coaching tennis at the youth and club levels … Nick Zieziula was hired as head coach of the Georgia Southern men's tennis program. Zieziula was an assistant coach at Central Florida the past two seasons.

Men's and women's volleyball – Jeremy Price was named head coach of the men's volleyball program at Grand Canyon after three years as head coach of the men's volleyball program at Juniata.

Staff

Sports information – Steven Olveda was named sports information director and promotions specialist at Puget Sound after serving as a graduate assistant in the sports information office at Boise State last year.

Strength and conditioning – DePaul promoted Mac Calloway to director of strength and conditioning. Calloway joined the Blue Demons staff in April as the men's basketball strength and conditioning coach … Ian Lockwood was named strength and conditioning coach at Hobart/William Smith after a year at Georgetown … Dave Stroshine was named strength and conditioning coach at Utah Valley.
