Mark Calvi was named associate head baseball coach at South Alabama. Calvi was most recently an assistant coach with the College World Series champions South Carolina, and served on the staff the past six seasons. South Alabama has also named Calvi the successor to current head coach Steve Kittrell, who announced his retirement at the end of the 2011 baseball season. Other transactions Directors of athletics – Randolph-Macon promoted Robert R. Lindgren to director of athletics. Burns has been the associate athletics director and director of athletics development at his alma mater since 2008 and before that served in various coaching roles at the college from 1987 to 2008 … Oregon appointed Rob Mullens, deputy director of athletics at Kentucky, as the school's director of athletics. Mullens succeeds Mike Bellotti, who resigned in March. Coaches Men's basketball assistants – Montavello hired Marlon Terry, director of basketball operations at UALR, as assistant coach. Men's and women's golf – Iowa State named Andrew Tank head coach of the men's golf program. Tank was an assistant coach for the Minnesota men's golf team the past eight seasons. Staff Athletic training – Meghan Fornoff was hired as an assistant athletic trainer at Florida Southern after two years in a similar role at Florida. Conferences The Big South Conference named Betsy Kidd coordinator of softball umpires.
