    Tamica Smith Jones was named as director of athletics at Clark Atlanta, where she has been a member of the athletics administration since 2002, and most recently served as interim athletics director. She previously was a senior associate athletics director, senior woman administrator and coach at Morris Brown. A graduate of NACWAA/HERS (2006), the Leadership Enhancement Institute (2009) and the NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Females (2007), she is a member of the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics.

    Assistant director of athleticsJennifer White Sekellick was elevated to assistant director for compliance and student services at Temple after serving as the compliance and student services coordinator since October 2007.

    Football – Fort Lewis named César Rivas-Sandoval as interim head football coach, replacing Ed Rifilato, who resigned after six seasons. Rivas-Sandoval, who returned to the program this past season, formerly was defensive coordinator for the Skyhawks in 2004 and 2005 seasons and previously was linebackers coach and special teams coordinator at Tennessee-Martin.

    Football assistants – Texas Tech released defensive coordinator Ruffin McNeill, who as interim head coach guided the Red Raiders to a victory in the 2010 Alamo Bowl, along with assistant coaches Lincoln Riley, Clay McGuire, Brian Mitchell and Eric Russell. Another assistant, Carlos Mainord, will retire … Michael Gray was chosen as defensive tackles coach and Mike Gerber was appointed strength and conditioning coach at UNLV. Gray most recently was defensive line coach at Oregon from 2005-08 while Gerber completed his fourth season as football strength coach at Montana.

    Men's and women's lacrosse – Former Syracuse men's lacrosse all-American Steve Scaramuzzino was chosen as a volunteer assistant has his alma mater. Scaramuzzino, who was a member of NCAA national championship teams in 1988 and 1989, formerly was an assistant at Navy and has coached professionally in the Major League Lacrosse and National League Lacrosse.
