    The Eastern College Athletic Conference hired Karen Roberts as assistant commissioner for finance. Roberts joined the ECAC in 2004 as assistant business manager and had been serving as the director of finance since 2007.

    Coaches

    Baseball – Oberlin named assistant coach Adrian Abrahamowicz its next baseball coach, effective July 1. He replaces Eric Lahetta, who will move into an administrative role within the athletics department.

    Men's and women's soccer – Mario Sanchez resigned as men's soccer coach at UNLV … Heather Davis has been hired as women's soccer coach at New England.

    Deaths

    Former Illinois running back Art Dufelmeier died February 4 at the age of 86. He was team captain for the 1947 squad and a letter-winner in 1942 and 1946 before leaving school in 1943 to serve in World War II where he was a prisoner of war for 11 months. After being liberated in 1945, Dufelmeier returned to Illinois to play football and help take the Illini to the 1947 Rose Bowl … Warren Emery, a long-time aquatics coach and administrator at Caltech, died January 23.
