Steve Moniaci has been named director of athletics at Houston Baptist after serving as interim AD since May 2009. Moniaci joined Houston Baptist after 26 years of service in the athletics department at Rice.

Deaths

Brendan Burke, a student assistant for the men's hockey team at Miami (Ohio) and the son of Toronto Maple Leafs and U.S. men's Olympic team general manager Brian Burke, died Friday as a result of injuries suffered in a car accident.
