Minnesota has agreed to terms on a contract extension with football coach Tim Brewster through the 2013 season. Brewster, who recently completed his third year at the helm of the Minnesota football program, has guided the Gophers to bowl games in each of the last two seasons. In doing so, he becomes just the third coach in the program's history to lead the Gophers to back to back bowl berths.

Men's and women's soccer -- Steve Armas was named men's soccer coach at Campbell. … San Diego State women's soccer head coach Mike Friesen has signed a three-year contract that keeps him at the school through the 2012 season.

Football assistants -- Youngstown State hired Phil Longo as wide receivers coach, and he will also serve as the program's recruiting coordinator.
