William (Bill) "Kaji" Kajikawa, a former football, basketball and baseball coach at Arizona State, died February 15. He was 97. Kajikawa began his coaching career at Arizona State in 1937 and retired in 1978. He began coaching the Arizona State Teacher's College freshman football team in 1937 when the team was known as the Bulldogs. Before retiring in 1978, Kajikawa had worked as the freshman football coach under nine Arizona State head football coaches. In addition, he served as head basketball coach from 1948 to 1957 and was head coach of Arizona State club baseball team from 1947 to 1957.
Other transactions Presidents and chancellors – Judy Hample announced her resignation as president of Mary Washington. Assistant athletics directors – Boston College promoted Steve Novak to assistant athletics director/development. Coaches Football assistants – LSU named Steve Ensminger tight ends coach. Staff Student service coordinators – Delaware named Jessica Myers academic coordinator of student services for athletes.
