Old Dominion extended the contract of football coach Bobby Wilder through the 2014 season. Wilder had three years remaining on a six-year contract. Wilder was hired at Old Dominion in February 2007. He announced his third recruiting class on February 3, which brings his squad to the FCS maximum 63 scholarships. The Monarchs posted a 9-2 record in their first season of football on the ODU campus since 1940. ODU, which competes as a member of the Football Championship Subdivision, will begin competing in the Colonial Athletic Association in 2011.

Directors of athletics – Marymount (Virginia) director of athletics and women's basketball coach Bill Finney announced his plans to retire in August.

Men's and women's soccer – Bethel promoted Steve Dregits from interim women's soccer coach to the permanent job … Liz Masterson was named women's soccer coach at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Compliance coordinators – Kristy Bannon has been named the compliance and student services coordinator at Temple.
