    Macalester selected Annie Glieber as its new head women's volleyball coach. Glieber comes to Macalester from Carroll (Wisconsin), where she served as head coach for the past five years. Glieber takes over the program from Stephanie Schleuder, who retired from coaching after 12 years in charge of the Macalester program and 34 years as a collegiate head coach.

    Men's basketball – North Carolina-Wilmington men's basketball coach Benny Moss has been reassigned to another position in the school's athletics department.

    FootballRobby Wells resigned as head football coach at Savannah State, effective immediately. School officials appointed defensive coordinator Julius Dixon as interim head coach. Wells coached the Tigers for the past two seasons after serving as defensive coordinator and football marketing director for one season at Benedict.

    Football assistants – Youngstown State named former Miami (Ohio) head coach Shane Montgomery as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach and Carmen Bricillo as offensive line coach.

    Men's and women's soccerTafadzwa Ziyenge was named the head women's soccer coach at Arkansas State. Ziyenge joins the Red Wolves after coaching both the men's and women's teams at Alabama-Huntsville … Steve Armas, who has spent the last four years as an assistant coach at Campbell, was named head coach of the Fighting Camels. Armas replaces Doug Hess, who resigned earlier this month to accept the head coaching job at Drexel. … Saint Joseph's men's soccer coach Tom Turner announced his retirement from coaching.

    Men's and women's volleyball – St. Andrews Presbyterian promoted assistant coach Thais Franca to head coach of the Lady Knights women's volleyball program. Franca served as the interim head coach for the past two months after former head coach Melissa Chaplin left in mid-November.

    Deaths

    Bud Millikan, who coached men's basketball at Maryland from 1950 to 1967, died. Millikan coached for 17 seasons at Maryland and compiled a 243-182 (.572) record. The Terrapins reached the NCAA Elite Eight and won the Atlantic Coast Conference title in the 1957-58 season.
