    Russ Fager, head coach of the men's soccer program at Rider, announced his retirement after 36 seasons. Fager leaves the team as Rider's all-time winningest soccer coach. Before assuming the position as head coach, he served as an assistant coach with the team from 1971 to 1974.

    Coaches

    Women's basketball – Longwood dismissed head coach Kristin Caruso, effective immediately. Men's basketball assistant coach Bill Reinson will serve as interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

    Men's and women's cross country and track and field – Gerry Mahon, head coach of the men's and women's cross country program at Le Moyne, announced his retirement, effective December 15. Mahon began coaching the women's program in 1985 and took over the men's program in 1996.

    Football – Duquesne head coach Jerry Schmitt agreed to a contract extension through the 2013-14 season. Schmitt recently completed his sixth season as head coach of the program … Brady Hoke, head coach at San Diego State, agreed to a contract extension through the 2015 season. Hoke is currently in his thirds season with the program … Howard relieved Carey Bailey of his duties as head coach after four seasons.

    Men's and women's soccer – Allen Vital was selected as head coach of the men's soccer program at Tusculum. Vital returns to his alma mater after 14 seasons as head coach of the men's soccer team at Carson-Newman.

    Men's and women's tennis – Vassar hired John Cox as head coach of the men's tennis program following the resignation of former head coach Ki Kroll. Cox was an assistant coach with the men's and women's tennis programs at Kenyon the past five seasons. Kroll recently accepted the men's tennis head coach position at Southern Mississippi.

    Staff

    Compliance – Florida Gulf Coast hired Shelana Poindexter as director of compliance. Poindexter served as the associate athletics director for compliance the past two years at Georgian Court.
