    Boise State women's basketball coach Gordy Presnell won his 500th career game December 5 with a 66-57 victory over Seattle. Presnell has coached the Broncos since 2005, earning a 98-59 record in his first five seasons. Before joining Boise State, Presnell coached for 18 years at Seattle Pacific, his alma mater. He has never had a losing season in 23 years of coaching.

    Coaches

    Football – Glenville State head coach Alan Fiddler resigned. Fiddler has guided the program since 2004 … Colorado selected Jon Embree as head coach. Embree is a former Colorado football student-athlete and is currently an assistant coach in the National Football League … Jerry Kill was named head coach at Minnesota following three seasons in the same position at Northern Illinois.

    Football assistants – Texas offensive coordinator Greg Davis resigned after 13 seasons. Texas assistants Mac McWhorter and Mike Tolleson are retiring after nine and 13 years with the program, respectively.

    Men's and women's golf – Charlotte men's golf head coach Adam Pry resigned. Pry, who took over as head coach in the spring of 2009, will continue working within the athletics department in another capacity.

    Men's and women's soccer – Olaf Kirsten was named head coach of the men's soccer program at Northland. Kirsten served as co-head coach of the women's soccer program at Northland last season. The other co-head coach, Anne Whiting, resigned … Massachusetts-Lowell promoted Christian Figueroa to head coach of the men's soccer program. Figueroa has served as an assistant coach with the team the past four years and was a student-athlete with the team from 2003 to 2007.

    Deaths

    Marvin Bass, a former head football coach at South Carolina, died December 3, at the age of 91. Bass led the program for five seasons from 1939 to 1942 … David Faiella, the sports information director at Northern Michigan, died December 1 at the age of 49. Faiella was a former men's swimming student-athlete at Bowling Green and worked at Findlay for 12 years as a sports information director before joining the Northern Michigan staff in 2001.
