Louisiana College head women's basketball coach Janice Joseph died December 1 of breast cancer at the age of 46. In addition to coaching at her alma mater, Joseph previously led the San Jose State women's basketball program.

Coaches

Women's basketball – Marist head coach Brian Giorgis signed a contract extension through the 2017 season. Giorgis is currently in his ninth season as head coach of the program.

Football – Gardner-Webb dismissed head coach Steve Patton after 14 years at the program's helm … Al Lavan was relieved of his duties as head coach at Delaware State following seven seasons of service. Defensive coordinator Rayford Petty was elevated to interim head coach … Arkansas State promoted Hugh Freeze to head coach following one season as the team's offensive coordinator.

Men's and women's soccer – Kevin Leacock resigned as head coach of the women's soccer program at New Jersey Institute of Technology. Lealock guided the program the past three seasons and served as an assistant coach with the team for three years before that.

Men's and women's volleyball – South Carolina women's volleyball head coach Ben Somera resigned, effective immediately. Somera was an associate head coach for two seasons before he was promoted to head coach in 2007.
