    Cassandra Dixon was selected as head coach of the women's volleyball program at Ashland. Dixon was an assistant coach with the program from 2006 to 2008 and most recently served as an assistant coach with the women's volleyball team at Akron.

    Other transactions

    Director of athletics – Arkansas-Pine Bluff elevated Willie Fulton to interim athletics director. Fulton, who has served as the associate athletics director for business, replaces Louis Perkins, who accepted the director of athletics position at Howard.

    Associate director of athletics – Joe Karlgaard, director of athletics at Oberlin the past six years, was named associate director of development at Stanford.

    Coaches

    Baseball – Elms named Nathan Bashaw head coach. Bashaw has served as the assistant baseball coach at Gettysburg since 2005 in addition to other administrative roles in the athletics department.

    Women's basketball – Andy Haman resigned as head coach at Lincoln (Pennsylvania), effective immediately. Haman had led the program since the 2004-05 season. Assistant coach Kisha Middleton was named interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

    Football – Henry Frazier III was appointed head coach at North Carolina Central. Frazier was the head coach at Prairie View A&M the past seven seasons … Ball State hired Pete Lembo as head coach. Lembo was the head coach at Elon for the for the past five seasons … Lance Guidry was elevated to interim head coach at Miami (Ohio). Guidry, the defensive backs coach this season, succeeds Michael Haywood, who accepted the head coach position at Pittsburgh … Vanderbilt named James Franklin head coach. Franklin was on the coaching staff at Maryland the past eight years, including the last three seasons as assistant head coach and offensive coordinator … Findlay appointed former assistant Rob Keys head coach. Keys was the co-defensive coordinator and special teams coach with the program from 2000 to 2004 and most recently served as the defensive backs coach at New Hampshire … Jeff Sokol  was hired as head coach at Rose-Hulman after 11 seasons as offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator at Chicago …. Hamline head coach Jim Good will not return as after four seasons of service … Maryland head coach Ralph Friedgen will not return next season after 10 years at the program's helm … Boston College extended the contract of head coach Frank Spaziani through the 2015 season. Spaziani is in his second season leading the program.

    Football assistants – UCLA dismissed defensive coordinator Chuck Bullough and wide receivers coach Reggie Moore.

    Men's and women's gymnastics – Illinois promoted Justin Spring to head coach of the women's gymnastics program. Spring was an associate head coach with the program last season and served as an assistant coach the previous three seasons.

    Men's and women's golf – Rutgers named Christopher Mazzuchetti head coach of the men's golf program. Mazzuchetti spent the past eight years as the head golf professional at a local golf course.

    Men's and women's lacrosse – Birmingham-Southern hired Emily Wetmore as head coach of the women's lacrosse program. Wetmore was an assistant coach at Allegheny for a year.

    Men's and women's soccer – David Ulm was hired as head coach of the men's soccer program at Wheelock. Ulm has serves as an assistant coach with the men's soccer program the past four seasons at Curry … Hawaii selected Michele Nagamine as head coach of the women's soccer program. Nagamine served as head coach of the women's soccer program at Hawaii Pacific the past three seasons … Coker named Dan Muns head coach of the women's soccer program. Muns previously served an assistant coach for the women's soccer program at Columbus State since its inception in 2004 … Eddie Radwanski accepted the women's soccer head coach position at Clemson. Radwanski spent the last 10 years as head coach of the women's soccer program at North Carolina-Greensboro … Akron extended the contract of men's soccer head coach Caleb Porter through the 2020 season. Porter has led the program since 2006 and guided the team to its first NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship this fall … St. Mary's (Minnesota) announced men's soccer coach Chris Dembiec will not return next season … Jerry Riggs, head coach of the men's soccer program at Mount Olive, resigned after nine seasons … Georgia Southern hired Lindsey Vanderspiegel as head coach of the women's soccer program. Vanderspiegel was an assistant coach with the women's soccer program at Hofstra the past four seasons.

    Men's and women's swimming and diving – Mark Gole was named head coach of the men's and women's swimming programs at William Jewell that will begin competition in the 2011-12 season.

    Men's and women's volleyball – Dixie State named former assistant Darice Pratt head coach of the women's volleyball program. Pratt served as an assistant with the program for two seasons before departing to direct a youth volleyball program.
