    WPI men's and women's cross country coach Brian Savilonis announced his retirement. Savilonis has guided the women's program for 26 seasons and the men's for 17. He also served as head coach of the women's track and field program for a decade. Savilonis will continue to serve as a professor of mechanical engineering, a position he has held since 1993.

    Other transactions

    Presidents and chancellors – Detroit Mercy appointed Antoine M. Garibaldi president of the university … Michael C. Miller was hired as president at Pfeiffer. Miller previously served as president and Chief Executive Officer at CommunityONE Bank in North Carolina … Arkansas State selected Charles L. Welch as president. Welch is currently the president at Henderson State.

    Associate directors of athletics – Michael Harris was named senior associate director of athletics for external operations at Towson. Harris was formerly an assistant director of athletics for sports communications at Cincinnati … Texas A&M-Commerce promoted Koni Daws to associate athletics director for business. Daws was previously the assistant athletics director for compliance, a position she held for one year.

    Coaches

    Men's and women's lacrosse – Chrissy Carfello Trescavage was named head coach of the women's lacrosse program at Lycoming after four seasons as an assistant coach at Misericordia.

    Men's and women's volleyball – Birmingham-Southern hired Judy Green as head coach of the women's volleyball program. Green was the head coach at Alabama for 15 seasons before she announced her retirement before the start of the 2010 season … Smith women's coach Angela Mills resigned after five seasons.

    Deaths

    Former Illinois football student-athlete Al Brosky died November 27 at the age of 82. Brosky competed for the Fighting Illini for three seasons from 1950 to 1952.
