    Art Mahan, former athletics director and baseball coach at Villanova, died December 7 at the age of 97. Mahan was a part of Villanova athletics for over 40 years, first as a baseball student-athlete in the 1930s, then as a baseball coach from 1950 to 1972 and director of athletics from 1961 to 1978. Mahan also played professional baseball with the Philadelphia Phillies and was the organization's oldest living former player at the time of his death.

    Coaches

    Women's basketball – Marist extended the contract of head coach Brian Giorgis through the 2017 season. Giorgis is currently in his ninth season leading the program.

    Football – Rich Ellerson agreed to a two-year contract extension as head coach at Army. Ellerson joined the program in 2008 and his extension is through the 2015 season.

    Men's and women's lacrosse – Andrew Baxter resigned as head coach of the men's lacrosse program at Rollins. Baxter was hired at the program's inception in 2007. Assistant coach RJ Rossi was named interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

    Committee vacancies

    The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Committee.
