    Houston extended the contract of men's and women's track and field head coach Leroy Burrell through 2013. Burrell is a former Cougar sprinter and Olympic gold medalist. Since he took over the program in 1999, Burrell has guided teams to 22 indoor and outdoor conference championships, including two conference championships last season for the men's indoor and outdoor track program.

    Other transactions

    Assistant director of athletics – Logan Garvin was named assistant director of athletics at Regis (Colorado). Garvin will oversee the marketing and promotions area and was most recently a marketing and promotions associate at Colorado.

    Coaches

    Men's and women's cross country and track and field assistants – Emory appointed Madeleine Outman assistant coach for men's and women's track and field programs. Outman recently completed her career as a student-athlete at Indiana (Pennsylvania).

    Softball – Caroline Cubbage accepted the head coach position at Randolph. Cubbage was head coach of the women's softball program at NAIA member institution Concordia last season … Iona hired Roni Rivera as head coach. Rivera was most recently the head coach at Muhlenberg.

    Men's and women's soccer – Buena Vista named Tony Tommasi head coach of the women's soccer program. Tommasi spent the last four years as head coach of the women's soccer program at Methodist … Nansha Kalonji was promoted to full-time head coach of the men's soccer program at New Jersey City after one season as acting head coach.

    Men's and women's swimming and diving – Ryan Weathers was appointed head coach of the men's and women's swimming programs at Arcadia. Weathers was a swimming student-athlete at West Chester from 1999 to 2003 and most recently coached at the high school level.

    Men's and women's tennis – Middle Tennessee selected Jimmy Borendame as head coach of the men's tennis program. Borendame spent last season as the head coach of the men's tennis program at Drake.

    Staff

    Sports information – Muhlenberg named Andrew Wible assistant sports information director. Wible is a recent graduate of Penn State.
